Since the financial crisis, GyeonggiProvince has been attracting and promoting foreign
investment. This has been a major undertaking of the provincial administration in order to
resolve unemployment issues and rejuvenate the stagnant local economy.
As a result, the province has successfully invited 88 companies and US$13,304 million in
foreign direct investment, and led the recovery from the national financial crisis.
